Ingredients
- Hot Dogs:
- 6 ea. stadium-style all-beef hot dogs
- 2 ea. mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut lengthwise into long thin strips
- 12 ea. slices bacon
- 1/2 t. kosher salt
- 1/4 t. ground black pepper
- 1/4 t. onion powder
- 1/4 t. garlic powder
- Spicy Avocado Honey Mustard Sauce:
- 1 ea. Avocado From Mexico, halved, pitted & skin removed
- 1/2 c. dijon mustard
- 1/4 c. honey
- 1/4 t. cayenne pepper, or more if desired
- 1/2 t. kosher salt
- 6 ea. split-top hot dog buns
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Prepare the hot dogs: Cut a lengthwise slit into each hot dog. Take the long strips of cheese and fit them into the slits until all hot dogs are stuffed. Starting with one hot dog, tightly wrap one piece of bacon around the hot dog. Repeat with a second slice until entire hot dog is wrapped and enclosed. Secure ends with toothpicks. Repeat for remaining hot dogs.
- Place wrapped hot dogs onto prepared rack. In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Sprinkle evenly over prepared hot dogs. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until bacon is crisp and fully cooked. Remove from oven and let cool for several minutes.
- Prepare Spicy Avocado Honey Mustard Sauce: In a blender, combine avocado, Dijon mustard, honey, cayenne pepper, and salt until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
- Place each cooked hot dog into a bun and drizzle with a generous amount of sauce, then serve and enjoy!
