Bacon Burger with Sweet & Savory Avocado Bacon Spread

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs. ground beef sirloin
  • 1 t. steak seasoning
  • 4 ea. brioche buns, toasted
  • 8 ea. slices of thick-cut Smithfield® bacon
  • 4 ea. slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 ea. lettuce leaves
  • 2 ea. tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 ea. small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 ea. Avocados From Mexico, pitted, peeled, & sliced
  • Sweet & Savory Avocado Bacon Spread:
  • 4 ea. slices of thick-cut Smithfield® bacon
  • 1 T. brown sugar
  • 1/2 t. onion powder
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 1 ea. Avocado From Mexico, pitted & peeled
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1 T. mayonnaise
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Sweet & Savory Avocado Bacon Spread:
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder. Using your hands, spread the sugar & spice rub on both sides of bacon.
  3. Cut bacon into 1/2-inch pieces. Cook in a skillet over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes until crisp. Remove bacon bits from skillet using a slotted spoon onto a paper towel to drain oil.
  4. In a small bowl, mash together avocado, lemon juice, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper until well combined. Fold in bacon bits.
  5. Bacon Burger:
  6. Form ground beef into 4 even patties; sprinkle steak seasoning on both sides. Cook burgers to desired doneness.
  7. To assemble, layer each bottom bun with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, burger patty, cheese, and bacon; top with Sweet & Savory Avocado Bacon Spread. Cover with bun tops.
