Make Your Own Avocados Salad Dressing

You’re probably already using chunks or slices of creamy avocados as an ingredient in your salads. But have you tried making a dressing with avocados yet?

Making your own dressing with avocado is a great way to replace bottled dressings with a fresh and natural alternative. Not only will your salads taste super delicious, they’ll add a nutritious layer, too. ¡Gracias, aguacate!

Homemade salad dressings made with avocado will still taste and feel creamy, thanks to all of those good polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats that avocados contain. And since they have those unsaturated fats and contain no cholesterol, your salads will still have a ton of flavor, so you won’t be compromising a thing.

Taste alone is a great reason to make a dressing with avocado, but added nutrition is another. Avocados contain 2g of fiber per 1 ounce serving and they deliver 20 vitamins and minerals.

Grab one of your Avocados from Mexico and whip up one of these three delicious dressings for your next salad.

Avocado cilantro pesto vinaigrette

– 1 1/2 tsp. honey

– 4 oz. ripe, Hass avocado, peeled and diced

– 4 1/2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

– 4 1/2 Tbsp. water

– 1 1/2 Tbsp. lime juice

– 2 1/4 tsp. shallots, minced

– 3 cloves garlic, roasted and minced

– 3/4 cup cilantro, fresh, shopped

– 3/4 jalapeño, seeded and diced, (optional)

– Salt and pepper, to taste

To make this recipe, place the honey, avocado, olive oil, water, and lime juice into a blender and pulse. Add the shallots, garlic, cilantro, and jalapeño and puree until smooth. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Refrigerate.

Spicy avocado Greek yogurt dressing

– 1 Hass avocado

– 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

– 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

– 1 tsp. hot sauce

– 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

– 3/4 tsp. salt

For this recipe, simply mix together all ingredients and serve over salad greens of your choice.

Honey lemon avocado dressing 

– 1 Hass avocado

– 2 tablespoons lemon juice

– 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

– 2 tablespoons honey

– 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

– 1/2 cup water

– 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Finish this recipe by combining all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
