At AFM, we know how hard foodservice professionals have been hit by the recent COVID-19 crisis. We designed this contest as a way to offer a little financial support (and fun!) to our industry partners who have been personally impacted. We want to reward chefs for sharing their most creative and delicious ideas for guacamole (and beyond!). Use it on a sandwich, in a salad, for breakfast – you name it. Share your inspirations that showcase the versatility of guac in its many forms, and showcase year-round uses for fresh Avocados From Mexico. AFM will reward the top 100 participating chefs with $200 for groceries, and the opportunity to compete for a grand prize of $5000.
Develop FOUR ideas for new unique Guac and Beyond Recipes. One (1) each for guacamole, schmears, spreads, dressings…you get the idea! Ensure these concepts showcase the year-round available of fresh Avocados From Mexico! In Round 1 we are just asking for your high-level concepts. The first 365 chefs who submit their ideas will move on for consideration.
AFM will choose the top 100 entrants and reward them with $100 for groceries. You will receive an email notification if you are selected to move to this round. Chosen chefs should finalize their recipes and submit them, along with photos, to Avocados From Mexico for judging. Upon submitting their recipes, chefs will receive another $100. We encourage all chefs to share their entries on social media using the hashtag #AFMGuacAndBeyondContest
AFM will select the three grand prize winners and award them
the following prizes:
Avocados From Mexico are available year-round! So make sure your ideas are, too! We’re asking chefs to develop four ideas for guac and our other master avocado recipes – sauces, spreads, dips, etc. Think of seasonal flavors, holiday classics and other ways to add avocado to your year-round favorites. And don’t forget to think outside the bowl! Show your ideas on a sandwich, taco, salad, breakfast dish, soup…you name it – guac can do it all! If your concepts get chosen and you move to the second round, here are some tips for your recipe and photo submissions
