Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fesh lime juice
  • 1 quart fresh tomatillos husked and halved or quartered
  • 1 fully ripened Avocado From Mexico pitted, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white horseradish drained
  • 1 tablespoon green chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 jalapeΓ±o pepper seeded and chopped
  • 24 ounces vodka optional
  • 24 celery sticks with leaves, for garnish
  • 1 fully ripened Avocado From Mexico halved, pitted, peeled, and cut into 24 slices, for garnish
  • 24 red jalapeno slices 3 or 4 jalapeno peppers, optional, for garnish
  • 24 lemon slices optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Maria Verde Base:
  2. In a blender, whirl the lime juice and tomatillos to a puree. Add the Avocado, soy sauce, horseradish, green chili sauce, salt and pepper, and the jalapeno, if using, and continue blending until smooth. Add water to achieve a drinkable consistency.
  3. To Serve:
  4. Rim cocktail glass with a mixture of salt and pepper. Add 4 ounces Maria Verde base. If desired, stir in one ounce vodka. Garnish with celery stick and an Avocado slice. Add a red jalapeno slice and lemon slice, if desired.
